This style incorporates the use of a mask, through which color is applied. Artwork, references and even specifications may be provided to identify the screen (mask) through which color will be applied. This enables the creation of most any pattern, including squares, circles, diamonds, whatever best suits your vision for the glass components.
In the example shown, after the patterned color was applied through a mask, the mask was removed and a solid, lighter color was applied overall. Such a solid "background" color is an option that you may consider.
