UltraGlas has pioneered the development of fusing both opaque and translucent, lead-free color with glass making UltraGlas an ideal choice for applications demanding either light transmission or solid, opaque surfaces. The resulting proprietary Monolithic Color Process imbues its resulting glass products with a deep and luminous, or a flat, coloration. Color can be fused to selective areas or across an entire piece.
Consistent and permanent glass coloration is achieved using glass pigments, colored with oxides (similar to those used in ceramic glazes). Absolutely no lead is present in these colorations. During the production process, the colorant is applied to and then fused with one side of the glass body, providing an opaque, or translucent, permanent bond (becoming one with the body of |

the glass). Colors will not peel or scratch or otherwise separate from the glass itself components may even be fabricated on the job. In UltraGlasTile and UltraGlasFlooring applications, this provides an opaque backing that completely hides the setting material and substrate used in its installation.
UltraGlas has further evolved a designer palette of 31 lustrous, opaque colors, coordinated in pairs of lighter and more saturated shades for design continuity. Matched colors, for site-specific coordination, may be specified for a nominal matching fee.
